Black01Shee Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 IM trying to install a brand new dynoport 2 into 1 exhuast on my 01 banshee, but i cant seem to get the pipe on to the exhuast ports i can put either side of the pipe on but when i try to slip both on the there at the same time theres just barely not enough clearance. can i use a dremel tool to grind down the inside of the pipe a little to make it fit? or what should i do. Snopczynski Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Dont grind the pipe, I cant believe you said that. You gotta muscle it on there. I used a pry bar on mine and very gently spread the headpipe apart as someone pushed it on the flanges. They dont fit all the way on when they are brand new. They go on a little more after they have been ran. Quote
bellracing2 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) I just used a little grease on the o ring and it slid right on . again , they don't look like they're all the way on at first , but after you ride it for a few miniutes they will slide on a little . mine is now rock solid and won't move at all . Great pipe for the woods ! Edited July 31, 2008 by bellracing2 Quote
Black01Shee Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 Im afraid ill break the pipes if i try to pry them apart, what angle should i go in there with the pry bar? Quote
Black01Shee Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 (edited) Well i managed to get it on, what i did was i used a spark plug defouler. I put it inbetween the two pipes and wrenched the defouler so it expands and pushes the pipes apart, then i installed it. Everything went pretty good exept the rubber collar was hard to install bewteen the pipe and silencer due to the larger exhuast diamater in that section. I couldnt get the exhaust all the way on to the motor but you guys said thats normal in the beggining right? this is what it looks like Is that ok? Edited August 1, 2008 by Black01Shee Quote
bellracing2 Posted August 1, 2008 Report Posted August 1, 2008 thats how mine looked too ! what other mods done to yer bike ? Quote
Black01Shee Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 Performance wise just the exhuast and fmf jet kit. If you wanna see what she looks like look at my other post. Oh yea and one more question after a few wot runs with the new exhuast i took the spark plugs out and they were very clean with a slight brownish/grayish hue on the porcelian is that good? Quote

I would have to see a real good closeup of the plugs . How did you like the power ? I am at stock pilot, stock main , clip 1 step leaner . on an all stock 05 with +4 timing . running the stock airbox . I am still a tad rich , but sometimes where I go is pretty remote , and the gas is lower quality so I will leave it alone for now and be safe . The + 4 timing plate made a BIG difference , idled much better , and reved much faster/cleaner ! Edited August 1, 2008 by bellracing2 Quote
Black01Shee Posted August 1, 2008 Author Report Posted August 1, 2008 I love the power there is much more bottom end and mid range power and the sound is awsome, i had my friends sit and listen while i flew up and down my street and they said it sounds like a street bike but better, it is a tad on the loud side though (a little louder than the fmf fatties i had on there before). I have a sparky sparkarrestor on it now , I will see if that quiets it down some . set the timing @ +4 and then ride it ! big differencs in throttle response . mine will rev from idle to high rpm and back down to idle instantly with no bogs or hanging up . my next step is more compression and possible woods/mx port .
