Animalman294 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 Damn, a lot of trouble to install a pivot bearing. Ya, always thought they should be a little snug but spin freely since they are a bearing. If they had to be pressed in somethings not right and it should be measured for the right diameter............. Quote
lilmegill727 Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 this is off topic but how much did you pay for you swinger and how much would it be pc'd instead of chromed? thanks Quote
shanYE west Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 I've seen many of HAVOC's arm's and I use them myself.. They are VERY nice arms. I dont think I would start to compare quality when this company ships them out with out even reaming the bores.. Kinda of shotty quality control and turns me off... Just outa curiosity what was the price of that avenger swinger??? Never mind.. I just found the price. They better pay for shipping both ways to fix it for that price. Quote
peterlocal22 Posted July 31, 2008 Author Report Posted July 31, 2008 (edited) well in their defense the owner called me right when the swingarm got back from the chromer, which i thought was great. He said he was going to get everything together and ship it out. I then called him back and got one of the builders. I asked if he could rush it out today and use three day shipping so i could go riding with my bro before he moves back to virginia beach. Remember avenger is from california and i live in massachusetts. The guy actually said ya sure we will send it 3 day mail and we will pay for the extra shipping charges. Again something you dont see today. So the guy I was talking to shipped right out not knowing the holes where not cleaned out. So it was an honest mistake. I got it in three days like they promised. Probably cost aslot of money too. I then relized the problem after I talked to the owner and told him the problem. He was very apologetic and said I have two choices. First they could send me the tool if i felt comfortable to try and work on the arm myself but I would need a lathe which i didnt have. So i went with option 2 sent it back and they will fix it and send it back to me, they also said they would pick up all shipping costs. This avenger arm from looking at it looks alot tougher than the HAVOC arm. The skid plate tabs are 3/4 inch tabs built for desert racing. The welds are real nice. The Havoc one failed after i hit one small rock which ive hitten a million times with my stock one and nothing happened. Ill post soem pics of both when i get the new one back. Thanks Edited July 31, 2008 by peterlocal22 Quote
shanYE west Posted July 31, 2008 Report Posted July 31, 2008 It should have been reamed before it left for the chrome shop. I bet they have 10-20 arms already built sitting on the shelf. I would hope it looked stronger then the Havoc arm.. its 3x the price! Seems like everyone is expecting everything for nothing these days.. Havoc makes good arms and their friends of mine.. just hate to see people try and say they make bad product when thats not the case... Well I think i've said enough here.. sorry to clutter your thread. Quote

Well I think i've said enough here.. sorry to clutter your thread. Dont worry about cluttering my thread and Im not looking to trash HAVOC. Infact i thought jeff was great guy. the thing is he told me the arm would be real tough and great for trails. I told him i ride in trails w lots of rocks etc. the Havoc arm tabs failed after one ride. It wasnt even as tough as a stocker, not even close. I think they make great swingarms for dragsters not trail machines. i was alittle upset after they said once there arm is used theres no warrenty, i mean atleast fix the tabs because they were way to long. my skid plate was about 3 inchs from the ground. this havoc one is garenteed for ever. so yes you pay more money but we all know you get what you pay for. Also it was 300 buck more than havocs. again not looking for trouble but i did get a bit of a raw deal, but that such as life. you live and learn. fouledout in your case his arm works which is great. oh ya by the way you banshee is a real eye catcher all ways like the loos of it.
