TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 Yes... both silencers have oil coming out, and the plugs are wet on the threads. But not inside. I am mixing at 32:1 or 36:1 everytime I mix 5 gallon. Kevin doesn't want me to go any leaner than 36:1 on this motor. But even when I ran the bike lean on the jets it was the same way. So it's not a rich jetting issue Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted July 30, 2008 Author Report Posted July 30, 2008 Anyone have any ideas? Or any input on the octane being too high for 185 PSI? Causing the low end not being there? Quote
dunerman Posted August 6, 2008 Report Posted August 6, 2008 I am going through the same things. Just put the new ported motor together with PWK 33 s and have the same problem. I will try the change of octane. I have jetted and jetted and still have it. I have changed the stator, reed cages , reeds, intake, coil , and cdi with no fix. i have put different carbs on that are jetted for the same motor and no fix. Fuel octane could make sense. let me know what you find out. I will do the same Quote
TeamRealtreeHD Posted August 6, 2008 Author Report Posted August 6, 2008 What domes are you running, and what is your compression? That will tell you what gas you need to run. We took my pickup coil down to .016 and gapped the plugs to .020 insted of the standard right out of the box gapping. I am running 105 octane and it plain out rips now. Quote
dunerman Posted August 7, 2008 Report Posted August 7, 2008 I have 18cc noss domes with 175comp +5 timming stock stroke/bore with passion 12 port dunes drag style will CPI style inframe drag pipes. I had straight 112 fuel and mixed a gal of 89 with 2 gal of 112 to see if there was a difference and the bog got way worse and the plug were really rich. I am going to try a different coil and cdi box today. But it does sound like you have the same problem ..... Is yours fixed? Quote
