I plan on runnig my alky just a little richer then gas, and i ran 36:1 on gas Quote
dajogejr Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Methanol is corrosive, whereas gasoline is not. You're gonna find people run 20:1 to 40:1. I personally run 28:1. What is important is you use methanol compatible oil AND use methanol compatible oil in your gas purge mixture as well. I put a little more oil in my gas purge mixture to clean out the methanol. Benoil, Supertechniplate and Castor 927 are pretty much what most people run. Quote
gregrob Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I run Castor 927 @ 32:1 on alky. Mix my purge gas at around 20:1 Quote
FireHead Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 I run Castor 927 @ 32:1 on alky. Me too. Quote
J-Madd Posted June 26, 2008 Report Posted June 26, 2008 Haven't there been reports of a richer mixture showing more HP on the dyno, or did I just dream that.??? Or did someone make that up?? I chose to run 20:1 b/c that's what Jeff recommended on my 421 Cub. He said that he saw less wear on the pistons and cylinders with the richer mixture. Quote

I am sure someone along the way has made these claims, but I haven Quote
