pipe question

i feel special, this is my first post in the drag section. Im building a 7 mil cub drag bike. I have everything figured out except what pipes to go with. I know I want chrome, out of frame, same side pipes but do I need big bore or small bore? And im thinking about going with shear or rdz. what do you guys think.

Shearer, RDZ or CPI are fine choices. I say go big bore. However, the NEW small bore shearers run hard from what I've heard.

I have not yet run them...so I can't confirm that from my own experience.

 

I run bb on my 10 mil cub. Shearer, 2 out left side.

If you have not gotten the 7mill cub yet. The 10mill cost the same to build...

I would get the big bore pipes. Shearer and RDZ pipes are both good pipes. If you are not going to build the mortor your self, ask the builder what pipes to run asfar as BB or SB.

Matt Shearer told me last year that the 7mill cub needs sb pipes but most will tell you the BB pipes will make more USEABLE power for you. Again the sb pipes on a dyno should make a little more peak hp but not as much hp where you can use it. Last year when I was trying to decide what pipes to put on my 7 mill cub I choose shearer bb and Im happy I did.

Ive Heard 68mm And up Run BB Pipes.But then Some people run SB on 10mm 68mm bores.My builder would always tell me he can make a motor run good on SB pipes and Make the same motor run good with some changes with BB pipes.Ask your builder which pipes to run.

i purchased a set of shearer small bore pipes recently (havent installed them yet due to other problems) but when i ordered them i talked to matt shearer about which set to go with. he told me that the small bores rev higher. i think he recommended big bore for anything 7 mil and above.

well i have a 4mil and I have RDZ out of left same side. They look better then any of them and sound alot better. I beat alot 7mils out there so I think the RDZ pipes are good formy bike. but it hard to tell. every bike is different.
