twinrock Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 i already have a 4mm crank but of standard 110mm length can i use this in the cub 68mm set up thanks Quote
okbeast Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Yes you can use it, just make sure you get the correct pistons. Quote
shanYE west Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 If you have standard length rods you have to use a different piston is all.. Yes.. it will work Quote
shanYE west Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Yes you can use it, just make sure you get the correct pistons. ahh.. you beat me to it!!!! Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 i belive the wiesco pistons are the 513 series for standard rod arn't they? Quote
okbeast Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 i belive the wiesco pistons are the 513 series for standard rod arn't they? I believe so, and the long rod uses the 795's. Quote
twinrock Posted June 22, 2008 Author Report Posted June 22, 2008 thanks guys ..and will i still need my spacer plate? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 i would get a coolhead and the right domes and ditch that plate Quote
Hilarious Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 I believe so, and the long rod uses the 795's. since we are talking 421 cub, which should be 68mm bore 58mm stroke, the long rod can use the blaster pistons. thanks guys ..and will i still need my spacer plate? you dont need a spacer plate with the cub cylinders. shanYE west Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 he isnt uing the long rod I think Dave was just stating that the long rod pistons for the cubs are the blaster pistons, instead of the 795's. Since they dont make a 68mm 795 series piston. 513 series piston wont work either since the biggest bore 66.5mm. I would think he'd need the pistons used for the 68mm stock stroke cubs. (392cc) I'm not sure on the model numbers.. Quote
Hilarious Posted June 22, 2008 Report Posted June 22, 2008 okay now im confused. are we talking 68X58 cub cylinder, or is he using a 68mm bore stock stroke cub with a stock length rod 4mill stroke crank? i was assuming he had the 68X58 because of the title of this thread. LOL Quote
twinrock Posted June 22, 2008 Author Report Posted June 22, 2008 just to recap..i already have a 4mm crank with 110mm rod length..i want to up grade to 68mm cub barrels which will put me at 421cc...i want to know what combination of pistons to use thanks Quote
J-Madd Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 You can get those pistons from Trinity. I think they are a custom piston, but not sure. I know they cost more than the Blasters pistons or the 795 series. The pistons you need are the same as for the 392 Cub (stock stroke, 68 mm bore). Quote

K&T sales them as well as trinity, they are a custom pistome, 795 series but bigger bore. Quote
