300zgreg Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 I removed my crank, last night. It say 29L on the rods and PC on crank When i bought the banshee the owner told me that he had vitos 4mm stroker crank, and vitos piston. But i just bought vitos piston and its stamped on the inside, and my piston wasen't Maybe its all stock??? What should i look for that tells me if its stock or aftermarket Piston and crank? Quote
BenBB Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Stock pistons are cast aluminum, Vitos/Wisecos are forged aluminum, others here can tell ya better what to look for but my stockers were darker and heavier than the Wisecos I replaced them with; find a scale and see how they compare...I think you got shafted tho, the 29L is a Yamaha casting and I would think a Vito's crank would use Wiseco Hot Rods... sheefreak Posted June 5, 2008 Report Posted June 5, 2008 Do your pistons have a positive deck height(stick out top of jugs) w/o spacer, or a does it have a spacer below the jugs? Quote

Vito's offers both forged and cast pistons. Quote
300zgreg Posted June 7, 2008 Author Report Posted June 7, 2008 Vito's offers both forged and cast pistons. How long are stock crank rods, end to end? Quote
dajogejr Posted June 7, 2008 Report Posted June 7, 2008 How long are stock crank rods, end to end? Don't know....but center of eye to center of eye is 110mm. Long rods are 115mm... Don't confuse rod length with a stroker crank. They are not the same....a 4 mil stroker crank will have the rod pin 2 mm offset. If you can take several quality pictures of the crank, we can probably help you out.... Quote
