yamaha_daniel Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 forgot to mention it idles before the reeds then after we put them in it wont idle Quote
dajogejr Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Vforce sometimes requires leaning out the needle clip. You installed something wrong... Slides in the right carb, choke tube back in place? Did you seal up the intakes real good. Quote
yamaha_daniel Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 yes the slides are in the right carb i never took them out... intake are sealed up good (rechecked them), choke tube is installed i think lol (ill recheck tonight after school) .. would it be moving the clip on the needle down 1 or up 1 to lean it out .,,, does the vforces go on a certain side like the left on the left or does it matter ? thanks -dan Quote
00tbanshee Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 if you want to lean the needle then move the clip up one on the needle Quote
dajogejr Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Doesn't matter which side they go on and there is no upside down, either. Moving the clip one spot towards the blunt end will lean it out, but...that won't make a lick of difference in the starting, only 1/4 to 3/4 throttle... For the hell of it, turn each air screw in 1/2 to 3/4 turn. Quote
00tbanshee Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 to me it sounds like a air leak or some kind of lean condition Quote
dajogejr Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 to me it sounds like a air leak or some kind of lean condition That's what I was thinking too...the Vforce shouldn't make a lick of difference starting the bike, unless they were bad...which isn't 100% out of the question. Quote
yamaha_daniel Posted May 31, 2008 Author Report Posted May 31, 2008 ill try the air screw tomorrow and also look for air leaks thanks for the help ppl -dan Quote
rubberneck Posted May 31, 2008 Report Posted May 31, 2008 FWIW, I didn't have to touch a damn thing on my bike when i put the vf3's in, so my vote also is to check air leaks etc. I know in here some guys needed to lean the needle, i didn't. Quote
