justind574 Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 i was wondering how hard it is to replace the plastic impeller to a pro designs impellar and how effective it really is Quote
Bancheez Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 (edited) First, order up a clutch cover gasket, a water pump seal, and the impeller shaft bearing. You will want to do these all at once, as i have seen SEVERAL seized water pump bearings. don't be surprised if yours is seized when you pull it apart. All in all, a pretty easy upgrade. and yes, they do make a big difference in cooling, and you don't have to worry about the stock one dissintegrating. Edited May 29, 2008 by Bancheez Quote
Animalman294 Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 Man, that was a little more complicated than what I remember. I just bought the impellar and put it in, same seals, same everything. Twenty minutes and I was done.................. Quote
shee rips Posted May 30, 2008 Report Posted May 30, 2008 i did a new seal while i was in there. that way i know i wont have to dig back in there soon for 5 bucks worth of parts it made a huge difference in cooling. i think the stock one was taking a shit tho. i dont know how much better it would be than a good stocker. good peice of mind tho if nothing else Quote
justind574 Posted May 30, 2008 Author Report Posted May 30, 2008 see i just drained almost all the coolant out and put new coolant in but i havent checked the color of it yet and i was wondering if it really was flowing through there because it didnt take any out of the coolant bottle and i hear those stock impellars are junk Quote
