jerod187 Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 i know this is a stupid question but with all the engine omods i listed how muhc hp gain would i ROUGHLY be seeing, and if i can find just a pair of yfz shocks should i get em i dont want the a arms because theyre too low for my riding that i do Quote
lowbuckracing Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 My guess is around 60+hp..Depending on port job,Carb setup etc...If you can get some shocks reasonably cheap then do it...Till then ride these till they go bye bye!!!Read up on yfz shock upgrade and see if you wanna do the minimal amount of fab that is required for the switch!Good luck..Lowbuckracing Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 Suspension is the most important aspect of the bike. Without a good setup you wont feel much of a differance with any mod. If you cant hold the power to the ground your mods are a waste. how ever most guys want to mod the motor first then do the suspesiin later becasue how much it costs, in that case get it ported, adjustable timing plate, cool head. Then start saving for suspension. Buy some works shocks, they are cheaper then Elka and work great for the weekend warrior. Quote
jerod187 Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 ok, do i neeed a arms to make it feel alot better to? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I would go for some +2+1 a arms and get some shocks that match your riding style. A wider base is always a good start unles your strictly going in a straight line. You should be able to find used everything and save alot of money, just ask around before you go and buy something to make sure its not shit. Quote
jerod187 Posted May 29, 2008 Author Report Posted May 29, 2008 ok how what kind of shocks would go git with a set of +2+1 a arms?and what a arms you recomend? i usually just do like open trail riding or at heling island on the open spots just riping around or in my back field i have 20 acres but its mainly flat with a few hills, but i also plan on going to the dunes a few times this year Quote

Bansh-eman Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 Some Works AT Steeler Fronts and a Quad Star Rear. They are pretty good for what your doing. Fronts rear those links are for new, you can find used ones for cheaper. just make sure they are vavled for your wieght and the length of a arm your going to be using Quote
okbeast Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 You should decide now if you want motor work or suspension, b/c each is going to cost around 1k if you do it right. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted May 29, 2008 Report Posted May 29, 2008 I personally would go suspension first. All the motor mods in the world wont make a differance on a shity suspension. But even with a stock motor you will notice a huge differance in how the bike rides on a better suspesion. Quote
