Tapatalk Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 Is it hard to change a swing arm and how long does it take? Thanks! Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 no and i can do it in about 30 mins. what are you swapping out? stock for stock or stock for aftermarket? Quote
Tapatalk Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 The shees i'm looking to buy (have a few on my list) all have a stock SA's on them and I had a quote of $1,000 from the local dealer to install a new chrome +4, this includes the price for the new SA also. Just wondering if I might be able to do it myself. I'm guessing I would need a longer chain also. Trust me, i'm no mechanic but when I do eventually (soon) get a shee, I'm going to have to learn some mechanical stuff. Quote
locogato11283 Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 holy fuckin shit man.. what kinda swingarm you buying? $1000 is fuckin ridiculous. buy one from off here and do it yourself for half that cost. Quote
sinisterboo Posted May 26, 2008 Report Posted May 26, 2008 well unless you are just filthy rich, then you better get used to wrenching on your own shee!! The dealer will see you coming, and break it right off in ya. Between these guys on here, and the clymers manual, you will be able to do anything on your bike yourself. So you not only get it done for cheap, but you have the satisfaction of riding and beating 4-strokes on something you built!! Quote
Tapatalk Posted May 26, 2008 Author Report Posted May 26, 2008 Thanks, Heres one of the "local" shees that has my interest. Anyones here? As far as I know, there has been no motor work done to this at all since it was new. What do you think its worth? http://scranton.craigslist.org/mcy/674671262.html Quote

I'm sure he'd come down some but I was thinking the same thing. I can buy a new 06' for under 5k too. Been looking for a couple weeks and guess I'll have to just wait for that perfect deal. Quote
