The shees i'm looking to buy (have a few on my list) all have a stock SA's on them and I had a quote of $1,000 from the local dealer to install a new chrome +4, this includes the price for the new SA also. Just wondering if I might be able to do it myself. I'm guessing I would need a longer chain also. Trust me, i'm no mechanic but when I do eventually (soon) get a shee, I'm going to have to learn some mechanical stuff.

well unless you are just filthy rich, then you better get used to wrenching on your own shee!! The dealer will see you coming, and break it right off in ya. Between these guys on here, and the clymers manual, you will be able to do anything on your bike yourself. So you not only get it done for cheap, but you have the satisfaction of riding and beating 4-strokes on something you built!!

damn thats a lot of money for a 2001. my bro picked up a 2001 a couple years ago just like that for 2000 here in missouri.. i would keep looking.

I'm sure he'd come down some but I was thinking the same thing. I can buy a new 06' for under 5k too. Been looking for a couple weeks and guess I'll have to just wait for that perfect deal.
