1ugly88 Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 i've started rebuilding my motor and the bottom end has me so pissed i wanna smash it!!!!! got a good crank off of kiel and when i went to assemble the case halves i ran into a problem. if i get the case together the crank is wicked hard to turn or it'll turn easy and i can't get the case halves together. i'm willing to pay someone to get this thing together for me before i say fuck it and throw it away. trex banshee Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 is this a oem crank or a hotrods??? sounds like to me that its a yamaha crank and you don't have the little tits on the bearings placed correctly. Quote
1ugly88 Posted May 5, 2008 Author Report Posted May 5, 2008 i got the "tits" in the notches in the case, i'm using a factory crank. the cases where fine before i took it apart. i only took her apart to see what condition the motor was in. she had a bad rod bearing so i got another crank from kiel. now i can't put the damn thing back together. Snopczynski Posted May 5, 2008 Report Posted May 5, 2008 Sounds to me like the cases are warped. You have to send them to falicon and have them line bored. Quote
1ugly88 Posted May 5, 2008 Author Report Posted May 5, 2008 how do you warp cases? i just took this apart like 3 weeks ago. it fit fine then. i just cleaned them up and painted em? Quote

1ugly88 Posted May 6, 2008 Author Report Posted May 6, 2008 have u got the cases all the way shut ? or are they not shuting all the way ? that's my problem. they don't seem to want to close up at the back of the cylinders. Quote
kawiking Posted May 6, 2008 Report Posted May 6, 2008 this may sound dumb.. my buddy couldnt get his damn cases closed not to long ago.... he's done it a million times !! well he forgot u cant just put them together on a hard surface (work bench) the screws werent goin all the way threw the cases so it could close. they were hitting the work bench, not letting the top cases to go all the way down. just something to think about... i know sounds dumb. but like i said he's dane it right alot of times and that one time stumped him for awhile.. lol good luck. That and are all the little dowel things aligned to the top of the case? I remember it was hard as hell to get all them in at the same time on my engine. It could be hanging up on one of them. Quote
