schamms Posted May 3, 2008 Report Posted May 3, 2008 ok so i just got new carbs from a friend. when they were on his bike two days ago it idled just fine. now i put them on mine and mine wont idle at all... they have the tors removed and i already removed the tors box under the frame. the only things i have done to the bike are dg exhaust and i removed the stock key so i can just use the teether/run switch any help would be great thanks in advance guys Quote

ziegman Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 First if it is stock jetting and you have aftermarket pipes you are way too lean. As far as idling is concerned make sure you dont have the slides in backwards, make sure the choke tube is in place between the carbs and get them synced. Quote
mopar1rules Posted May 4, 2008 Report Posted May 4, 2008 yep, if you are trying to run stock jetting, you are too lean. you will need to have like 250-260 mains and might need to bump your pilots up to 27.5. i would think your 25 pilots are just fine. leave the stock needles in w/clip in stock position. snyc the carbs and report back. you may have to turn your idle screws in.
