Is it my understanding that with the upp slider or the tm design works slider you dont have to remove the swing arm. I am trying to avoid removing the swinger. I have been reading but no one actually clearly says you dont. It is implied by some that you dont but others say you have to pull the swingarm. If someone could clarify this for me that would be great. thanks

I cant remember what kind I ended up with but I know for a fact you can get them where you DO NOT have to remove the swinger. The one I had on was a solid piece so I had to cut it off but the one I bought had a "cut" where you could remove a allen screw, spred it apart and it slipped on.. Look around a little, you should'nt have trouble finding one like I got..

I use the cascade top sliders and you DO have to remove the swinger. So if you dont want to remove it, dont get a cascade one.

2 nuts and bolts and simply pulling the masterlink on your chain and you can have the swinger off enough to get a slider on. Thats the way I did it. But like the others are saying, they do make the ones that you can put on without removing your swingarm.

I dont have one, but Im pretty sure the TM Designworks one can be installed without taking the swinger off.

Yeah....no. The TM has to be installed by removing the swinger. I just put a new one on befor e the last dune trip just a couple weeks ago. Very fresh in my memory, pain to do......but worth it. Very nice peice.

Bought a Cascade for mine also and had to take the swing arm off. Kinda difficult but not too bad. You dont have to take out the master link if you have enough play to loosen your chain you can just take it off the sprocket, whichever is easier for you.

the kit i bought is UPP, you will find it on ebay. the swingarm does not have to be removed to fit it, like rippen said it has acut and an allen head bolt.

it was easier than removing the swingarm but still a bit tricky

if i remember correctly when i installed my upp slider, it can be done without removing the swinger. BUT, what you have to do is remove the collar that your stock roller rides on. look on the banshee microfiche (rear arm) it's #42. you need to get the stock roller out of the way, chisel thru the collar and spread it to remove it, being carefull not to cut into your swinger or the dust collar of the swinger. if you don't remove the collar the slider will not fit around the swinger. after removing the collar, the upp slider will spread and slip (not exactly easy) over the swinger and a bolt goes in from the bottom to hold it in place.

if i knew then what i know now, i would have just dropped the swinger a little, pulled the collar off and slid the upp slider on. that would be much easier.

Been looking at them also and it seems like alot of companies are making them so you dont have to remove swingarm, check rocky mountain and magic racing.
