BansheesRock Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 I just replaced my stock head with a pro design cool head with 20cc domes. Once I tightened all the nuts to about 20 lbs. of torq I tried the kick start and the pistons moved so far and got jammed. I think my pistons are hitting the bottom of the cool head. Is this common? any suggestions as to what might be causing this? I do have stock cylinders bored to 65.5 (.060) over. Quote
mopar1rules Posted April 21, 2008 Report Posted April 21, 2008 are your domes cut big enough in diameter for the bigger bore cylinder that you are now using? i think whats happening is that the dome is for the stock bore, and the crown on top of the piston is hitting on the little flat area that is around the edge of the dome. you might not know what i'm talking about, but someone else on here will chime in, knowing what i'm talking about, and then be able to explain it better. BansheesRock Posted April 22, 2008 Author Report Posted April 22, 2008 I just found what was wrong, somehow I let one of the O rings around my dome fall into the cylinder as I was putting everything back together. It was a stupid mistake, I'll remember that one from now on. I do have another question if someone could answer for me. I have 20cc domes; can I run pump gas on these? Quote

mopar1rules Posted April 22, 2008 Report Posted April 22, 2008 depending on your elevation yes. i would run a 50/50 mix of race gas with 93 pump gas to be safe. Quote
