I've alwase ran wiseco's and never had a problem with them, does the bike run? You should probably check out the crank bearing's too.

And Welcome to the site and the addiction!!

Wiesco's are a good piston/top end to run. A lot of people will have Wiesco for their top end and doubt there are hardly any problems/negatives about Wiesco.

As 98_shee said, while you have it apart check your Crank out. Once you got the engine all checked out (maybe you want to do a leak down test as well) then you can move on to other areas. Take your carbs apart, check all the jetting for the mods that are on the bike, clean them really good and just generally check them over. Can also check the intake boots, make sure they are not torn or wrecked.

You sound like you have some knowledge about Banshee/Banshee Engines so that is good for starters :geek:

Welcome to the HQ

Sounds like this is gonna be a project, not just a band aid and run it type.

Wiseco are fine. Jeff @ FAST (Site sponsor) or RJ ATV can hook you up with Wiseco top end kits and gaskets as needed.

Machine shop is gonna have to check clearances...if it's that old, that low of compression, and stock bore, I'd just get a .010 or .020 kit and hand the new pistons to the machine shop....

Either one of those guys mentioned will have swingarm bearings. I know Jeff @ FAST does...I got some swingarm bearings off him in the past.

the bike didnt run when i got it. the needles in the carbs were stuck and they were overflowing.i would have acid dipped them but i couldnt figure out how to get the float pin out(seemed stuck). i just cleaned it out with carb cleaner.thats pretty much how far i got on the engine. thats pretty much my primary concern everything else is simple.
