kawiking Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 im building a 421 cub... i have a plus 6 swingarm right now.. i trying to think if i should go +8 or 10.. this is pretty much goin to be all drag.... i dont care if the front comes up alittle , just dont want it to come up alot. Quote
theshee Posted April 13, 2008 Report Posted April 13, 2008 Id go with the +8. Thats what I ran on my 421 and it wasnt a wheelie machine and it felt about right for the motor. Quote
kawiking Posted April 13, 2008 Author Report Posted April 13, 2008 id rather go with a +8... my buddy has a damn +6 on his 10 mil. and it s a wheelie machine. im wanting to drag race mine on sand/dirt tracks and sand bars and little sahara. does anyone have a wheelie bar for a a stock carrier set-up.. i see alot made for round house swingarms Quote

trex banshee Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 like theshee said go with the 8...bigboy ran an 8 on his, however he did run a bar  although mine doesn't put the numbers out a 4 mil cub does i run an 8 on mine and it is pretty controllable, comes up sometimes but not like it did with the six. kawiking Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 yea.. travis told me he ran a +8.. my buddy has a 10 on his 4 mill. he said it would pull the tires off the ground alittle at little sahara. even if it comes up a foot, thats fine with me. i just dont want it to come up to much. im running 12 paddle haulers on it.... i think ill prob go with a 8 Quote
KaosBanshee44 Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Now you know why my swinger is so big with the motor i'm putting in it although i'm gonna have 14 paddles on mine cause i'm a skinny bitch Quote
Hilarious Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 yea.. travis told me he ran a +8.. my buddy has a 10 on his 4 mill. he said it would pull the tires off the ground alittle at little sahara. even if it comes up a foot, thats fine with me. i just dont want it to come up to much. im running 12 paddle haulers on it.... i think ill prob go with a 8 The whole swingarm length stuff has my mind boggled. I'm going to be looking for a wheelie bar soon. I bought travis' +8 and drag axle for the cub I'm building. I ran the arm and axle on my dune port before I retired it and I could still get the front end to come up a lot more than a foot off the ground. So im pretty sure its gonna be worse with a cub on it. You may need more than +8 or run a wheelie bar. or hell, both. Quote
shanYE west Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 I ran a +12 swinger with 13pdl extremes on my 421 . It would still lift the front up if I wasn't watching what I was doing. Baddassbanshee479 used a +10 last year on the track and he pulled the front up alot off the line. I think he's gettin a bar for his +10 this year. 1 Quote
kawiking Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 well f@ck me... i guess im back looking at a +10 Quote
kawiking Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 nice avatar cody !!!!!! Quote
theshee Posted April 14, 2008 Report Posted April 14, 2008 Correct me if I am wrong shayne, (just my asssumption, ive never actually raced on a track) but track traction and sand are way different arent they? I think you get more traction on a track. I would still go with a +8, thats what my 421 had it it would just blow the 10 paddle extremes off and wouldnt wheelie... If you were building a bike to go in a straight line on a track, yeah go with the longer one, but where you are going to dune this bike, I would go with the 8. Quote
kawiking Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 well..not really much of a dune bike.. it sits pretty low, and im really thinking about putting it on alky. pretty much just going to be used for drag racing on sand bars , are local dirt/sand track and maybe i can get some ice tires and do some drag racing in dirt. were ever anyone wants to race... acouple of my friends are running asphalt .. not sure i want to go that away. i know are river bed sand is alot lighter than little sahara sand.. i had 9 pad tripple buff haulers on my lightly ported stock bike and it would spin the crap out of them, with a +6 kiel... i might just buy that +8 u have .. if its not enough.. i'll save up and get a +10 round house style. i wounder if my +6 brake line will stretch another 2 inches ???? hmmmm Quote
kawiking Posted April 14, 2008 Author Report Posted April 14, 2008 and it will prob be getting drag ported .... Quote
theshee Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 I really think that you will like the 8 and im not saying that because I have one for sale... in all honesty, I think you will like the 8. Quote
