okbeast Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Austin's got a 12 on his 421, you could probably put a +16 on one and it will wheelie man, it's just the nature of the beast. Quote
kawiking Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 thats what i was thinking to... i know austin runs a 12... he's also 280 i think, and ive seen vid of his bike standing up.... my set ups goin to be close to his... im 180 . im not sure what im goin to do ... austin rides in alot of the same kind of places i do... ill give him a call Quote
okbeast Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Ya, he likes to get it to hook as much as possible even if it'll wheelie some. I'd say you could run a +10 with 14pdls or an 8 with 12 extremes just from my exerience of where we ride and his bike and you weighing less. Quote
kawiking Posted April 15, 2008 Author Report Posted April 15, 2008 i meant to say he is 230 .. lol  my buddy took my 12 pads to little sahara and used them on his +10 and he said they worked good, he said they felt about like his 10 pad extremes.. his was the general lee banshee if anyone was at snake hunt..... shanYE west Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 Correct me if I am wrong shayne, (just my asssumption, ive never actually raced on a track) but track traction and sand are way different arent they? I think you get more traction on a track. I would still go with a +8, thats what my 421 had it it would just blow the 10 paddle extremes off and wouldnt wheelie... If you were building a bike to go in a straight line on a track, yeah go with the longer one, but where you are going to dune this bike, I would go with the 8. I don't just run mine at the track. I take mine to the dunes too. My Bike hooked great in the dunes. I had alot of people tell me that +12 was too much but I dont think I would like anything less. But every place is different. A good setup in one place might not work to well in another. Quote
SoCalinIt Posted April 15, 2008 Report Posted April 15, 2008 A lot of guys out here run a +10 for their hill bikes... Not the same as you flat drag guys... +10 swinger, 10 paddle SLS Haulers... That the hot ticket in Glamis. I'm going with a +13 and 12 paddle SLS Haulers... on my +10 hill chassis. Quote
kawiking Posted April 20, 2008 Author Report Posted April 20, 2008 im goin to be running 12 paddle sls haulers.... Quote
