First mod suggestions

I just got my first Banshee. It's a '06 special edition, it had V force 3 reeds and FMF powercore 2 pipes when I bought it but that

The big Fuggn hunk of crap ontop of the crabs. But a $30 tORS REMOVAL KIT FROM FLEE-BAY, pROdESIGN IS MY CHOICE, and a good port will go a LOONNGG way!

Sell your pipes, buy some cpi's or shears. Get a good aggressive duneport. If you don't go through the wet stuff get some pod filters and outer wears. Advance your timing. get paddles for the sand. Do all that and see how you like it. Should be a LOT faster. If you have more money the mods are endless. Just remember there is always someone faster, so build something you like and are comfortable riding.

What's your budget like? I'd start with a coolhead or milled stock head, timing plate, pod filters, etc.

Yup, definitely need to know budget. If not wanting to spend a ton, get it ported and have the stock head modified or spring for a cool head. If you are willing to spend the money, do a Cub. Sand mountain is a huge as hill and it will take some HP to go up fast.

Porting....

Keep the pipes, etc.

Open up the airbox, or remove it...you don't need it for Sand Mountain.

 

Porting is what you need, then practice, try gearing changes and air pressure adjustments for the paddles.

Dave's right at this time the porting would be your best bang for the buck, and you can upgrade the pipes later. If you can go with a NOSS head you can get smaller domes and help out the cooling at the same time.............

Ya, I hear they are charging those boost bottles with nitrous now, and if you get them precharged then they will also throw in a new set of powerbands which should be good for an extra 10hp...............

i would say in this order

1. remove tors if it is still on there

2. dune port by a pro (or someone who knows what they are doing)

3.air cleaner

4. timing +4

get used to it and later get the head and new pipes :thumbsup:

if this is your first banshee take your time because after these mods it starts getting expensive
