dezoffroader Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 I just bought a set of V-force reeds, and noticed that when I look through them I can see light between the cage and the petal. Flipped the petals around, and that seemed to only make it worse. My little brother bought a set for his 125, and they had exactly the same problem. Now as far as I've ever known, the reeds should seal completely, right? Is this just a fluke thing (twice), or has anyone else encountered this with the V-force reeds. Or is it even a problem? On a side note, my brother returned his cage and got the boyesen ones, and they sealed tight against the cage. I'm considering flipping for the boyesens myself. Thoughts, theories, suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanx for your time guys! Quote

gumby6t9 Posted April 9, 2008 Report Posted April 9, 2008 It says right on their website that they might not completely seal on the cage. Look at their website, I believe it is under the FAQ section. Quote
Da-shee-s-nit Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Did you use the bolts it came with to cut out the lips on the manifolds? Also use some high temp silicone on them, hope this helps  Quote
F.BEJARANO Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 Did you cut off the tab to the manifold? If you didnt you need to and make sure that its flush but you cant take too much off. I also used a gasket on both sides of the reeds and they worked fine for me. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted April 10, 2008 Report Posted April 10, 2008 they will NOT seal 100% against the cage when your holding them. Dont worry once they are in te motor they will work. Quote
dezoffroader Posted April 10, 2008 Author Report Posted April 10, 2008 Thanks for the help guys. I checked the FAQ's on V-forces web site, and just as you said, they mention that they don't seal completely. Now all I have to do is put 'em in and shred. Quote
