very impressed with sand stars

i went up to silver lake on saturday and tryed out the new itp sandstars i just bought and they performed amazing. I would recrommend them to anyone who is looking for a great turning and good all around tire for the dunes. I had no problems at all pulling wheelies even in the softest of sand.....very impressed for a v-paddle

i run sand stars on my 450 and love them but i still prefer haulers for my banshee. do you have the sand star fronts too?

I'm not much of a V paddle guy, but they are a great set of dune paddles.

its a duneable paddle, its made for it. verry tough and can take abuse.

 

it has tall blades so diggs deep wich makes it easier for wheelies. but for top end speed theyre junk.

try some haulers and youll never go back.

Yeaup.. they'll hug those walls very nice & turn on a dime.. Ask sandshots, his old bike dumped me on a sharp turn Gotta be Hauler ready for any braaaap braaaaaaaappp occasion :biggrin:

ive heared alot of good things about haulers but for me there not what i want...i do alot of dicking around and some drags and actually if my damn shee would shift into 4th i would have done ALOT better. For v-paddles my shee was pretty damn competive. My paddles seemed to hook up and throw alot more sand than some of the straight paddles i saw up there on saturday. Trust me i am not dissing straight paddles, they work amazing for what they are designed for and the v's work amazing for what there designed for. If i was more into dragging and hillshooting i would buy me a set of skats but i do very little dragging and these paddles hook up more than enough for me to climb any hill at silver lake

then it sounds like youre settup. as long as you like what you have then youre good.

 

the reason those throw alot of sand is becuase of the v. both blades collect the sand and spit it out at the tip of the V where they meet.

Straight paddles slide great if you get the right size. This slide is on 20x11x9 haulers.

I agree sandstars are great for all around duning, haulers are for going straight or hillshoots. Buy both sets I have both. When your racing with buddies have haulers on, When fooling around not worrying about racing have the stars on. If you get beat while having the stars on go back to the trailer and swap them for haulers it takes 5 minutes. Then seek your revenge.

not to steal your thread but wont a little throttle control turn the thing jsut as well wiht straights on as just simply turning the bars would wiht v paddles?

I 100% agree, I rode my buddies banshee the other day with the new paddles and I couldnt believe how well they hooked, I am sold on them for sure...Def a great paddle..
