Ball joints.

I picked up this banshee about a year ago for $500 bucks. It runs great (Aside from the fact I have the top end apart for boring and porting). It has aftermarket a arms (I think lonestar but they do not say anything on them) and a set of works dual rates with remote res. My question is, are these ball joints turned out too far. I was told that as long as there is as much thread in the a arm as the ball joint is wide (threaded part) I am ok. I have been looking at other shees on the site and do not see any that look like this. The wheels are almost straight up and down maybe even turned in a little so I realy can not turn them in anymore and the bottoms are all the way in. Whats up?

your fine go ride it and dont hurt yourself.

I am sure I will hurt myself. I have been stuck inside the entire winter, when I get to ride soon I will probably kill myself trying to make up for lost riding time. These F#@KING machines are addicting! Thanks for the help.

You have Lonestar arms. $682.50 from Lonestar.

You didn't sent a photo shot from the front so I can't see how the wheels line up, but your suspension is fully adjustable for caster, camber, and toe in. I set mine up with the least amount of protruding ball joint by dividing the required distance between the ball joints and the heim joints.

It is kind of a bitch, but if you set up your front end correctly, you can get rid of that excessive extended joint thread. That is the weak point of your front end.

You need an angle finder:

And these instructions:

Mine were originally set up like yours, now they are a lot closer to the arm than they were.....

Ok that all makes sense now looking at them. I never noticed the heims were adjustable. It looks like the guy who owned it before never set it up right. Thanks for the help.

i cant wait to start bothering you folks with questions on setting up a front end haha, before i tore mine down the inside tire almost went 30 degrees farther in than te outside. major carving. major headache. major. problem. death was coming. i noticed my stocker ball joints to all be greasy and bad looking under the rubbers.

If i were you i would just adjust the whole front end, i'm with everybody else it just don't look right and i wouldn't chance it. I'd clean up all that rust as well. Good luck with it no matter what you got a deal only paying 500 bucks. I lose those kinda deals.
