dajogejr Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Ray, I"m just going to be honest and say what a lot of us have talked about. The store looks good. You need to lower the prices. You have top dollar listed for everything...and half the stuff is junk. You don't have the technical knowledge or ability to properly assess a lot of the used items you sell. I can give you two perfect examples. The cranks for sale. You don't know what they need. And a box of parts I bought off you for the crank, and only the crank...it was supposed to be a 4 mil stroker crank. It wasn't. And you said basically it's "What you were told"... To be 100% fair. You made that up to me no questions asked...and I greatly appreciate that. You can't sit there and honestly tell me you don't have to relist a lot of your stuff a few times... You have the ability to move so much volume of parts, the little bit of $$ you take off the parts to reduce per part profit would be overshadowed by the amount of volume you can move. If you reduced pricing a bit and actually had the technical ability to get accurate information on some of the internal engine parts, etc., you could make an absolute killing....and I'm sure it'd be less headache for you.... Just being honest with ya man.... Quote
Keyser Soze Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Yea ill second that. I was going to buy lots of misc crap doing the buy it now option. I just waited on other auctions and $aved. Quote
Minkia38 Posted June 13, 2008 Author Report Posted June 13, 2008 Yea ill second that. I was going to buy lots of misc crap doing the buy it now option. I just waited on other auctions and $aved. thanks for the info guys Why do I price my stuff higher than others? I'm a one man operation running a business on the nights after my 8 hour workday I could part out 5 banshees a week if I sold stuff at 50% of what I sell it at but I dont have the time to, nor the resources to get that many bikes I go buy them, take them apart, clean them, take pics, list them, pack them up, ship them, and rinse and repeat right now I have my prices optimized for doing one banshee a week any more and I dont have time every once in a while I lower prices (cranks for example are normally $200, but Ive sold them the last month for $150 to reduce my stock) I'd love to sell more, but I dont have an unlimited source of Banshees to buy and part out, I make due with what I got Its funny that I can sell a set of cylinders for $300 when others sell them for $150 My way of taking the time to take proper pictures, and write up a descent description tells you why. I always have a part at a set price, thats what I try to do, so anytime you need a rear shock for a dune trip tomorrow, Ill get it there. sure I am not 100% sure of what everythig is when I pull it off, I cant tell the difference between a stroker port job and a regular port job or a big bore sleeve vs a stnadard sleeve, but Im learning as I go. I can only tell you that if someone sells me a bike and says it has an A&S port job, I assume it has an A&S port job, so thats what I advertise it as. If I make a mistake, I always correct it Thanks again for the helpful tips, Ill try to learn more about quads and find more Banshees to part out and sell more parts to everyone Quote
BigRed350x Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 Invest in a set of calipers for the cylinders. You can provide basic info like bore size, and port heights with a basic set of calipers and would save yourself a little trouble there. Even a cheap-o set of calipers from a local hardware store will do. Your comment about big bore sleeves vs stock sleeves would be easily resolved with a $12 part from ace hardware. Quote

As a heads up (and a thread hi-jack) I am going to be rolling with our Summer Test through Denver the last week of July if you want to take a peak at some new Class 8 hardware that is atleast 5 years out of market. :geek: Quote
