xsinnerx Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 (edited) dose it mater witch way the whist pin clips are faceing I thought I read on my piston kit that you want the gap to be either on top or the bottom so that inertia will hold it tight into the clip groove. I'll look for a link that had some helpful tips that I used when I did my top end for the first time. OK here you go, scroll to the bottom of this page ........... http://www.smellofdeath.com/lloydy/piston_diag_guide.htm Edited March 23, 2008 by xsinnerx Quote
98_shee Posted March 23, 2008 Report Posted March 23, 2008 just make sure you can get the clip back out when you need to....don't line the gap in the clip up with the groove in the piston pin hole. Quote
05Special Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 you want the opening of the clip 180 degrees to the opening in the piston.. Quote
dajogejr Posted March 24, 2008 Report Posted March 24, 2008 just make sure you can get the clip back out when you need to....don't line the gap in the clip up with the groove in the piston pin hole. That's the way I've always done it. Quote
