looking for vin #

i was told to look at the left side where the shifter is but i don't see the # anywhere can someone point me in anpther direction or am i just looking around it ? Is it cut in the frame??

if your frame was purchased at a dealership or came into the world as a replacement, it wont have a vin.

it should on the inside of the left frame rail (where your shifter is) it may have been painted over, there is a sticy at the top of this thread that explains decoding what you find. but like i said, you may not have a vin.

 

and by inside, i mean imagine the engine is protecting it.

On my 87 Frame it is located where I "circled". You can see a little bit of white towards the bottom of my lime green square..that is part of the VIN Sticker. I painted over it and it just happened to chip there.

well i will check it out but do i need to take anything off in order to see it.. i bought it as a 2002 thats what the last 2 owners said it was so thats what i took it for !!! thanks for the input guys !!
