im talking about boring the stck banshee carbs out. cant afford em now but i can afford a bore job on them. would going from a 26 to 28 be too much? even if i can get a mm out of the bore id be happy. as far as going bigger is there any other slide that could be made to fit in a new slide bore?

not sure if you can go out that far on a 26mm carb or not. i had a set of flat slides that went from 38mm out to 40.1 mm that were bored by the Crank Shop in vermont. kurt ,the crank shop tech guy, told me not to go any larger cause air can leak in around the slide. also had a set of round slides that were enlarged from 38mm to 39.8mm, done by a local shop. this was also considered to be a maxed out bore job. better check with someone before you bore those carbs.

You can only increase the bore size about 1.5 mm. If you bore it on the same axis as the original bore then the slide may not close enough to idle it down. That leaves going up with the bore axis but will the slide open far enough? I had a set on a bike I bought that were already bored to 28mm and they leaked air around the slide and had idle problems.

I have the carbs on my red bike out to 30mm, I had to do a bunch of weirdo stuff to make that work. :geek:
