Blaster engine noise

I know this is not a blaster site, but you have helped me with my banshee and I am hoping someone here knows about the blaster. Anyhow, I am looking at this Blaster for my wife, but the engine makes a knocking noise at idle. You can definately hear it over anything else when the bike is running. I was told this was a "normal" noise for the Blaster. I am going back over to look at it tonight and get a compression test done. So my two questions are, is this noise normal, and what should I be approx. looking at for compresion on a stock blaster? Thanks in advance for your help..

Mine did it in Yuma and didn't when we got home. Come to find out it was jetted wrong for That low elevation. Idle to 1/8th throttle it sounded like somebody was tapping the engine with a hammer.

I went and started mine, and yes it is faint but not like it was at the dunes. So I am going to say yes they are right, all Blasters do it. :biggrin:

Thanks for your help. If the compression is OK I am going to get that bike tonight. That will get the wife off my back about spending too much money on the banshee, for now anyhow.

yeah my old blaster used to do the same thing

Check the piston, it could be piston slap. The compresssion could be fine and the skirt still slapping. A loud knocking noise at idle isn't normal.

its normal my blaster made the same noise

just go on youtube and watch blaster vids..all blaster do it....
