Wildcardracing Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 There's a very small ding in one of my jugs where the dome o-ring seals, I was thinking of using some epoxy to smooth it out. Any other good suggestions would be helpfull. Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 how big of a "ding" are we talking about? Quote
Wildcardracing Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 how big of a "ding" are we talking about? about .010" deep by1/8" long by .005" wide Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 does it have any burs on it or protruding over the edge of the cylinder? if not you are probly safe running it. Althogh I'm a TOTAL perfectionist so i would have it fixed just because it kills me to have stuff like that lol... you can probly get some epoxy and smooth it with t hone but im not to sure how the epoxy would hold up in the actual cylider with the ignition of the fule and the hot exhaust gases. might call a few builder and see what they think Quote
shee rips Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 as long as the deck is flat i wouldnt worry about it. if it pushes up thereor something then file it maybe. i might be way off track here though.... sounds very minor now that i read your post again. Quote
Wildcardracing Posted March 5, 2008 Author Report Posted March 5, 2008 It's not in the cylinder, it's on the deck surface. It will probably seal fine the way it is, but I am sort of a perfectionist myself and don't want to take any chances. the way I see it my three options are to run it, epoxy or have my cylinders decked a couple of thousandths. I was just curious if anyone had any other suggestions?? Quote
Bansh-eman Posted March 5, 2008 Report Posted March 5, 2008 if you have them dcked you can always compensate your deck hieght at the base. or just adjust your squish. but to be honest its probly fine from what your describing. Quote
