Otis Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Went to kick the bike over and the kick starter stops about half way down and and wont go any further. Also tried bump starting it (popped it in get while being towed back to camp) and the wheels locked up, Wouldnt turn at all.....is this a common symptom for a major problem? any suggestions on what might be the cause of the problem? Otis Posted February 26, 2008 Author Report Posted February 26, 2008 no, the bike doesnt start because the kick starter wont go through its full rotation like theres something blocking it from going all the way down. I tryed starting it by getting towed and then putting it into gear but the back wheels just locked up and drug across the sand. I'm thinking something grenaded in the tranny but havnt torn into it yet... just wondering if anyone else that has had this problem might be able to tell me what was wrong with their bike when it happened to them... dajogejr Posted February 26, 2008 Report Posted February 26, 2008 Pull the side cover off, see if the plastic sleeve/bushing between the cases and the gear broke off...if it did, the gear got wedged and you might be lucky.... Al least pull the side cover off to check for damage control. Quote
