qboronyrican Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 i recently bought new tires and went with a slighly larger tire....22 on front and 21 on back.....how will this affect the shee top speed wise and low end wise? Quote
qboronyrican Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 also will i have to change my sprockets to compensate for the change...i currently have 13 f and 40 b to get more low end .....i think thats right....more low end right? Quote
bansheefreak Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 13 in front gave you more "lowend" but 40 in the back gave you tad "topend" back.. so you should be good with the tires.. taller tires give more "topend" .. just fyi thou 1 tooth in front is almost same as 2.75 teeth in the rear.. qboronyrican Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 so basicly im back around the stock gear ratio????? thats what i was thinking at least........would the shee hook up better with the more top end???? Quote
BansheeKid15 Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Got this off another thread... its going to come in handy http://home.earthlink.net/~gellett/banshee.htm Quote

BigRed350x Posted February 13, 2008 Report Posted February 13, 2008 Here's a quickie for ya... smaller sprocket in front = more power bigger sprocket in front = more speed smaller sprocket in rear = more speed bigger sprocket in rear = more power taller tire = more speed shorter tire = more power 1 tooth difference on front = 2 to 3 tooth difference on rear. So if you go from a 13 to a 14 in front its the same as going from a 43 or 42 to a 40 in the rear. For me, as a general rule of thumb for myself I do a 2 or 3 tooth change out back for every 2" of tire change. So if I go from my 20" paddles to my 22" paddles I will add 2 teeth to the rear sprocket to get the same average ratio. I really have no idea if I am keeping the same ratio, but seat of the pants it seems to maintain the same average speed and power with that change. Quote
qboronyrican Posted February 13, 2008 Author Report Posted February 13, 2008 ok thanks i think i got it....so like i said before, i should be back close to stock ratio with the 21's on the back and the 13/40t setup i have Quote
