inthemail Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) okokok. ignore the other post. i have just decided that im going to do a build on a mattoon billet case. my choice of motor is going to be a 10 mil methanol stroker. that sounds about right. what can i use from my stock motor in the building of this new engine? and does the mattoon require machining to run a 10 mil. i need parts input on my choice of cylinders, clutching, override tranny, crank choice, all that stuff. also im trying to compile a list of all the busings, bearings, gaskets, hardware whatever that ill be needing to replace. im going to painstakingly build myself a one off custom banshee that Nova Scotia has never seen in terms of bling and power. let the input fly! **** i may ad whatever i DONT need i will most likely be selling so pm me some offers on parts. dajogejr Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 1...you don't need matoon for a 10 mil. However, if you have the extra 2K after you buy all the other stuff, they sure are nice cases without a doubt. You order them for the bore/stroke you plan on running. They come machined for your combo. Quote
inthemail Posted January 30, 2008 Author Report Posted January 30, 2008 (edited) indeed. thanks man! im gonna start with them so i get roped into all the other stuff. you got any advice on my cubs? i want something i can run reliably all day. tha is of course tim taylor too big. Fireroad Express Posted January 30, 2008 Report Posted January 30, 2008 is this machine going to be used for drag racing or something else? just curious. Quote
Justintoxicated Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) for a 10 mil I would probably spend the money on a DM Cheata, or Regular Cheata and skip the nice billet cases (unless you have extra money). The Regular cheatas use 250R Reeds which are larger and will wear less from a serious 10 mil motor. K&S sells a seal kit. Edited January 31, 2008 by Justintoxicated Quote
locogato11283 Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 i dont understand the mattoon cases. take that 2g's and put it in suspension or somewhere else. the cases are not needed. the 10mm will fit comfortably in your stock cases, and itll only cost about 100 bucks to get them trenched. 06BaNsHeE Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Sounds like money aint a thing for you...Build a 18mm DM or a 24mill Tripple twister.....But billet cases with a 10mm Cub :ermm: ....Is a waiste.. :geek: Quote

inthemail Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 (edited) keep it comin, 24mm twister triple had a nice ring to it.... im from the east coast of canada, money isnt the issue here due to the simple fact that this sorta modification doesnt find its way up here.... ever. pretty sure on that fact. im looking at building a one off something retarded performance. catch my drift? from what it sounds mattoon cases are a waste, i thought i could use them because of the high HP im aiming for. something timebomb like doesnt matter to me. im just going to use my stock cases from here on it tho. next thing to address is the cylinders... ive leaned more towards the cheetah powervalve. id like to hit 100HP what do you guys suggest for jug jobs? bikes gonna do drags, poker runs, fire roads go to shows and most importantly hold me and my friends beer while they looks see and want what ive built. theres growing interest in high performance quad building in my area BUT the builders build jewels and dont offer that kind of service to their customers. so fuck them. i shall pass them with the help of my second home banshee hq lol Edited January 31, 2008 by inthemail Quote
okbeast Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Lol, hell you can hit 100hp with a 4mil 68bore cub. Do you have ANY kind of budget at all? Quote

dajogejr Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 Build a 10 mil cub. It will do everything you want, won't kill your budget, and you can keep it on fuel instead of alcohol.... Alky is fine for drag racing and dunes, but fireroads, NO...you don't want to hold an alky bike WOT for that long. You don't need matoon cases for a 10 mil cub build. Quote
inthemail Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 what about the cheetas. i sorta think the powervalve could have alot of use with what im doing Quote
dajogejr Posted January 31, 2008 Report Posted January 31, 2008 All the riding you're going to be doing is WOT open or heavy throttle....power valves would be pointless IMO. Quote
inthemail Posted January 31, 2008 Author Report Posted January 31, 2008 so your sayin its just extra cash? they will still preform the same on top as non PV jugs correct? Quote
