When cold, fill the radiator, then fill the resevoir to the low mark. I use maxima coolanol, and sometimes put in water wetter. As far as the boiling noise, its actually the cap letting coolant in and out of the radiator (normal).

 

ye i did that 2day, but ive been riding the shee for over 1 yr and its never made that sound, its winter here which actually gets quite cold (max 18 C) and ive ridden in the summer (50 C avrage)

if you're coolant took a sudden drop in level and you don't have any leaks anywhere, it may either have been an air pocket in the system, or worse, you're impeller seal or crankcase to clutch cover seal gave out. i'd double check your tranny oil to be sure the coolant isn't leaking into it. the stock impeller is junk and breaks up causing the seal to deteriate and leak into the tranny. if that's the case, you'll probably notice the clutch slipping in the higher gears. a bad impeller would also explain the coolant not flowing in different areas well and one area being hotter than another.

 

on a different topic, how's the old palm islands coming along over there. my workplace has been manufacturing water cooling towers for the palms and pearl of qatar for months on end. the pictures that we get back of the islands and the evergrowing city look pretty impressive. indoor ski slopes in the middle of the desert :beer: that would have to be cool.

thanx, might have been a air pocket cuse i dont deel the clutch slipping much but im gonna cheak to make sure there aint anything wrong in there, Prob wont go out this weekend chanses to my luck bad weather ={ + i injured my self on a jump, gt the landing ramp wrong back end came up foot got under the back tire as the back end went down again and gt dragged under ={ only a couple of bruses and i cant run but healings coming along nicly :blush: :thumbsup:

 

As for the peral ye its coming along gr8 cant wait for it to finally finish. gd luck with the water cooling towers :thumbsup: and like sa3ood said, they gt the biggest indoor sk8ing area in the wrld i think, lol its preaty nice place ive been there b4. lol and dont think a typical desert it gt 7C a couple of days ago and i walk to school :down: oh and also oman had snow so its not a stero typical desert, just saying. Sa3ood can tell u bout the palms, thats in dubai

interesting, i didn't realize that the temps got that low there.

 

sorry to hear about your injury. take it easy and hope you have a speedy recovery so you can get back to tearing it up on the shee.

thanx, and speaking of which i actually went out 2day again, froze myself to death but thats another story. anyways i had to refuel the damn resovor over and over it kept emptying on me :down: dont know whats wrong probly the impeler shaft gear gone bust so ill have to get that fixed. when I was done washing the 'shee, i took it out around the block 2ce, about 300 meters in total, ok ye i did rev it up quite alot but hey its addictive :blush: . back to the point when i came back to my house, the radiator was litrally smoking and was extreamly warm, however the engine was still preaty cold. what the hells that all about??? any answers will help

glad to hear you got it figured out and taken care of. do you mean the impeller itself or the gear that drives it, on the inner side of the cover? if it's the impeller, did you get a replacement stocker or an aftermarket billet one? if you got the stocker, keep an eye on it, they are destined to fail.

sounds like something is blocked or your coolant is junk. i run engine ice only no water and no problem at all even says not to add water. coolant is suppose to work better then water to dissipate it but it is mostly like he said above so it don't freeze and lubing a little. you could run straight water if u wanted in the summer. do a good cleaning and put new stuff in.

 

 

I would never just pure water in if you leave it in the aluminum in the case act's as an anode and the water a cathode the water will eat you aluminum cases and you will have a more expensive problem, there is a bit more protection with a 50/50 mix but you should change it once every year, I know this first hand I have Seen countless examples of this time and time again.

glad you found the problem,just saw the thread and was gonna say,last time i heard a boiling noise coming from my shee i ended up needing a fresh topend. my impeller snapped som fins and wasnt pumping very well,it would still circulate some but it would get really hot when i was just putting around or going slow through tight trails. been running engine ice ever since. bought it at the track from the manufacture booth,guy gave me a hell of a deal on a gallon and a shitload of stickers.claimed in the event of another failure it would keep it kool even with no flow? im not going to call him a lier,but i aint gonna try to prove him wrong either.

the gear did, got a genuine yam new 1

i see. yeah, that would have to be a yammy part. i don't think anyone in the aftermarket makes those.
