peeksville Posted January 17, 2008 Report Posted January 17, 2008 got a 99 banshee from a friend. ran great for a while, but now when i start to kick it, it wont even like start to fire up or make the firing up sound. BUT, if i toggle between ON and Reserve for gas - it seems to do something and then it will magically start up. This happens whether the tank is full or near empty. any ideas? Please help Quote

bansheeman1988 Posted January 18, 2008 Report Posted January 18, 2008 (edited) take your gas tank off, leave a little bit of gasoline in it, and tip it on its side. Put compressed air backfed thru the petcock in both positions (reserve and on). After that, swish the gas in the tank around sitting upright around the petcock and dump it out. If there's anything in the gas, there was your prob and I recommend not full on blasting it with the air gun tho, just a nice short blip of the air should be enough. You could also spray some carb cleaner up the petcock for a little more cleaning power when you blow it with the airgun. Let us know what happens. Edited January 18, 2008 by bansheeman1988 Quote
