It has not come off as it cant get past the foot peg but it has rattled out. The guy I bought it off has put the wrong bolt in it to keep it in place so I was wondering is it a special bolt or what? Should it have a nut on the bottom of it or is the shifter threaded? Any ideas is excellent. May I should buy a new one? are there any good aafter market ones? Thanks Quote

Thanks I haven't removed mine on my stock shifter, but I took a look at it and it is threaded. There is no nut on the bolt. Quote
fastrthnu Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 there isnt anything special about it. Take you shifter to the hardaware store and match up a bolt for it. I think its an M6. Quote

Well, I've heard that the billet shifters have less flex than the stock which results in more positive shifting. I don't know, but I will soon be finding out because I'm about to get a pro-design shifter. I've gotta admit that the reason I want one is more for the bling factor though! Quote
BSHEE400 Posted January 12, 2008 Report Posted January 12, 2008 there isn't really an advantage with an aftermarket shift lever, i changed mine because i had the same problem as you and the plastic rings started to fall off mine. i bought an IMS steel lever off ebay which has much better threads that allow a way better grip on the shift shaft. i haven't had to tighten it once since i fitted it a few months back Quote
