BIGSHO Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 i just had my bike jetted at a local shop. i took it out and it was running ok but alil rich down low, bogging a bit. i had it out for a little while and it was fine but after a few hours it started running funny. it seemed like the left cylinder wasnt firing. i took it home and replaced the plugs but the same problem is still there. the bike starts right up, idles a lil rough. i felt the pipes and the left side doesnt seem to be firing b/c the pipe isnt wrming up like the right does. if i rev it up to about half throttle the pipe begins to warm and i can feel it coming out the silencer. im going to take it back to the shop but was wondering what was causing this? bigboybanshee Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 I'd check your reeds. Sounds like one could be badly worn or broken on the left side. Quote
dajogejr Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 Possibly plugged jet (even though it was just jetted) or it's not getting good/hot enough spark on that side.. Quote
bigboybanshee Posted January 10, 2008 Report Posted January 10, 2008 That's a good point too. Pilots are so small it wouldn't take much of anything to plug it up. A small piece of grit in the bowls could cause blockage Quote
BIGSHO Posted January 10, 2008 Author Report Posted January 10, 2008 (edited) the spark is good swapped cables and still a problem on that side. it idles but a lil rough. it stalls after running about a min. or so. both plugs are a nice brownish color. will doing a plug chop help? also both carbs and all parts were cleaned in an ultrasonic cleaner before being jetted. mods are pipes k&n thats it. the bike is running ok not missing or anything Edited January 10, 2008 by BIGSHO Quote

If they are worn or damaged they can cause similar issues, and you mainly notice it at idle. Just a thought Quote
