BIG B Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I have 01 that I need to get 70 to 80 HP. I spoke with Vitos and they suggested that I install their 4mm crank with their super stock pistons. Anyone seen that combo? Quote
[email protected] Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 DUDE LOL go weld ure crank first , then go get the cylinders ported...... Its not really about bore size when ure talkin miniscule cc gain..... ITS ALLLLLLLLLLL aBOUT FLOW !!!!!!!!! Go spend ure life savings on a bad ass port job, a 4mm crank , and some nice domes and clutch. HANG ON I have seen stock stroke / stock cyl bikes STOMP on 4 mill's , just because they have better porting/rider ? Quote
dajogejr Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 I don't care what you bolt on to your motor, you're not getting 70-80 HP on a stock port with pistons and a crank only... get it ported... Quote
BIG B Posted January 7, 2008 Author Report Posted January 7, 2008 Yeah.....You may be able to tell I'm new to the 2-stroke. I've been riding 4-stroke for a while and I'm just tired of getting spanked!! Everyone has a different opinion on what should done. Quote
BigRed350x Posted January 7, 2008 Report Posted January 7, 2008 Stock stroke Cheetah Cub VForce3's Cool Head 33-35mm carbs longer swingarm better rubber to get that power to the ground That setup will get you 70-80hp without having to split your cases and put in another crank. BUT If you go to higher compression its a good idea to get your crank trued and welded, in which case you will have to split the cases anyway, and if that's the case, spend the extra $400 for a 4mil crank that's already trued and welded and the 4mil casting of the cub cylinders cost the same as the stock stroke casting. Or you can run the stock crank with that setup until it lets loose or you have problems, then upgrade later. OR! Port your stock cylinders, Reeds Cool Head Carbs Swinger. Cub cylinders are around $800-900 Good port job around $300-400, possibly less depending on where you go and what you want done. Good porting places... LC Performance A&S FAST Dune Trash Racing Herr Juggs There's a zillion places that do porting. Look at peoples signatures and you can get some ideas of places. Call them and talk to them and go from there. Quote
