theshee Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 Yeah, thats why its a great idea to use caulking in say.. Wheel bearings.. Please correct me if Iam wrong but wouldn't a shit load of that stuff being in there hurt the lubricating potential??? Therefore potentialy hurting the bearings? Whatever.. The point is, if someone pays to have a motor assembled there shouldn't be overly excessive amount of sealer INSIDE.. I understand there will be some insidel, but whats in there I would think would be cause for concern and a rightfully so, unhappy customer.. RIPPEN I think anything that would keep the bearing from running smooth amd free would cause it to heat up and wear out quickly. Quote
BigRed350x Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 That looks like some "majic" right there... Sorry to hear it about the bearings. ...a side note... From some reading over on planetsand, people over there are suggesting the maxload bearing on the stator side. People have reported a couple failures of the TZ on the stator side. I dont remember the cause, but they are sticking away from the TZ on the stator side. Go with the maxload. Quote

I didn't say it was going to make it faster, I just said I don't see it hurting anything. I guess your lubrication may have been a little decreased, but obviously not enough to discolor the races.
