Snopczynski Posted December 22, 2007 Report Posted December 22, 2007 yea i have started porting.. i have smoothed up the tranfers, knife edged the birdges, and also opened the tranfers up a little to where u can tell but its not extensive, i also smoothed the intake and narrowed the bridge just a little(not the sleeve) and put a smotth contoured edge on the bridges also.. i definately do not want to lose lowend or mid by doing this so i hope its not a mistake, i am not going to change the port timings. i just want to add more power everywhere by letting the engine breath a little easier.. do u think i will lose any lowend power?? or just gain it everywhere like i am thinking, i have done a beautiful job so far, actually proud of myself so i will post some pics later.. Leave the bump in the outlet on the aux. transfers, it helps the boost port emulsify the a/f charge better. Quote
sheerider1026 Posted December 22, 2007 Author Report Posted December 22, 2007 i only went half way in the transfers starting from the base of the cylinder.. what difference do u think this cleanup will make in power?? any power loss anywhere?? Quote
Snopczynski Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 not much. did you open the base of the transfers? most of the transfer work has to be done on the radius and the port window. Quote

Snopczynski Posted December 23, 2007 Report Posted December 23, 2007 you shouldn't have done that. The cases already are smaller than the transfers, now there is going to be an even bigger step. Transfers just need to be smoothed out, not hogged out or opened up. All in all, you really shouldn't play with them unless you have a 90 degree grinder and 3-4 hours to waste. Quote

That's a damn good deal if you're getting new pistons gaskets and o-rings included. I totaled my last rebuild up and was at about $275 for what you listed, once you include shipping you'll probably be around that. What pistons and gaskets is in his top end kit? I went with Wiseco's and Cometic from rockymountainatv Quote
