fastrthnu Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 how do i adjust the clutch pushrod? my clutch cover is off. thats about how far i am. right on either side of this marker, you see the pointer on the case, and the pointer on the lever..... they should line up when NOT pulling in the lever. In the middle of the clutch preasure plate, you will see a nut with a phillips screw in the middle, I think the nut is a 10 or 12mm, put a screw driver in, then loosen the nut. Turn the inner screw either foward or backward to adjust the lever on top in the picture with your clutch cable slacked. Once you get it right re tighten the nut and then re tighten the cable just enough so as to not engage the clutch untill you pull the lever. Quote
Dave I. Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 (edited) When I set mine up I have it so the clutch arm below the carb is just a little (1/4" or so) towards the stator cover side of the arrow on the case. Then take your finger and push on the clutch arm and it should line up with the arrow on the case. Tighten everything up and recheck it. When I adjust the clutch cable I stick a Nickel (5 cents) between the clutch lever and the perch. then tighten the cable down. Take the nickel out and it should have a little free play in the cable so. Im sure there are 100 different ways to do it. Thats how I do it and I dont have any slipping or shifting issues.
