flattrakker Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 got her running after the rebuild.. idles perfectly but.. i pull the clutch in and drop her into first and it doesnt go.. i didnt split the cases but i did take the shifter off to get the engine back in.. there is nothing in its path blocking it from getting all the way into gear.. maybe its a little to low on the splines.. not sure.. TIA please let me know. do you have your cable to tight? Im sure you have to adjust either the cable, clutch nut, or both and youll be good to go. Quote

fastrthnu Posted December 1, 2007 Report Posted December 1, 2007 need.. help.. going riding tonight. look at the top of the case on the petcock side where the clutch cable ataches to the lever. There will be a pointer on the lever and one on the case. Those should be lined up when you arent holding in the lever. If not, you will have to take off the clutch side cover and adjust it through the pushrod/adjuster nut in the middle of the clutch preasue plate to line it up, then adjust the cable tight once its right, but not so tight it beging to engage.
