Removing ignition switch

I see a bunch of guys have no ignition switch on their banshees. Do they still use keys? Could somebody explain whats involved in this igniton switch removal deal please.

its not that we dont have ignition switches its that we clean the bars up by removing the giant housing that comes stock and replace it with a dirtbike style from like a cr250. then like i did was move my light switch to under my left leg to hide it. so all i have on my bars now is the push botton kill switch. also you can bypass your key so its not needed. you can do it by either cutting the wires off at the connection and splicing thm together ot you can remove the top half of the plug and then jump the two wires using a small peice of wire. do some searching , you will find the topic covered a few times on how to remove the key. i also did a writeup on what needed to remove the stock kill switch and add a cr250 one and a new light switch. very ez to do

there should be a black/white, and black/ red wire, and then a red wire and a brown wire which I think are larger than the first 2. tapping the black/white with black/red together and then the red and brown together will bypass the need for any starting switch. then you simply put he bike on run on the headlight switch to start and off to duhh. I got an old key switch and cut it on that side of the harness, so my main harness remained unspliced. That way to, if ever you wanted to leave it "unstartable" you just unplug the little spliced plug in and take it with you,. like a key.

I learned something new about my banshee today.... It appears that the key in my quad does nothing. I looked quickly and it doesnt appear to be hooked up even. I turned the key off and it didnt die. Looks like the previous owner hacked that some how. I guess I'm getting rid of the ignition switch all together.
