highroller355 Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 i will be posting a pic of my bike sitting, if i had a shock 11 and 3/4 just have to set up some blocks and unbolt the top bolts on shocks i have on there now, i was thinking wicked but i did find cheaper Quote
bigboybanshee Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 If you can't find a used set, I'd go straight to the source and get them from Marvin Shaw. Tim and Becky have awesome customer service, quick turn-around time, and are just great people to deal with. Quote
highroller355 Posted October 24, 2007 Author Report Posted October 24, 2007 whats there # or web site how long is your set up Quote
shanYE west Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Its alot cheaper to order through one of their dealers then ordering direct from Marvin Shaw... They told me they dont like to undercut there dealers. I got my set from www.quadwerks.com I may have a set for sale that is near new.. I just got them in april. My fronts are 12.5" and rear is 12.25" with out taking anything off the shock. So they can go shorter if needed. I'll know for sure in about a week or 2 if I'll be selling them. Quote

bigboybanshee Posted October 24, 2007 Report Posted October 24, 2007 Oh I agree it can be cheaper elsewhere, I just really like the quick turn around time they provided. They rebuilt 4 shocks for me in a day. I imagine they could set new ones up in the same time. I'm just partial though, when I get treated exceptionally well at one place, I'll go back even if it costs a little more. I only run fronts on mine, and they are 12.25". I plan to take a half inch out of them for next year and stiffen them up a nut hair, it sits good now but I think it would do better a little lower all around. I think the ride height you're talking about (11.75") would work well  Quote
highroller355 Posted October 25, 2007 Author Report Posted October 25, 2007 how do you get them shortened Quote

It took 2months turn around on mine. They were backed up. Tim said it was dead for about 3 months and then they got hammerd. But they are some of the nicest people over there. I placed my order through quadwerks and then called them directly to ask some questions and change my order.. Great people for sure! Quote

At the time I talked to them they quoted me one week turnaround, sent them on Monday and got them back that Friday. Becky did mention they were in their "off" season. To have the shocks shortened you just send them off, they can sometimes take out a spacer in the shock, or just cut the shaft and rebuild it. I think it's 50 bucks a shock for a complete rebuild (new seals, re-fill, etc), unless you need a new shaft (longer one) then its a little more $$$. Quote
