jaredvh Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 My engine seems to really bog at low RPMs. Only happens through 1st and 2nd gear though. Once I hit third it goes like mad. I'm assuming I just need a good tune-up I just wanted an opinion from fellow banshee owners. Quote
jaredvh Posted October 22, 2007 Author Report Posted October 22, 2007 is it stock Yes, it is completely stock. Quote
Handyman Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 Done anything for it to start bogging?? Quote

Guy I bought it from told me he thought it could use a tune up. Quote

Then it might need a tune up....Tear into the carbs and let us know what size jets you have. Do a search on here for that if you don't know what I'm talking about..Also let us know what modifications it has, that you know of if there is any. In fact I'd do a search for any questions you have.. Also go buy a clymers manual to tell you how to work on it...very informative and step by step directions to do just about everything on the banshee with pictures. With the amount of knowledge between all the members on this site I don't think there is a question that can't be answered...but please do a search and you may find the answer to your question and then some because I quarantee that any question you have has probably already been asked and answered. Welcome to the addiction Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 I would say your a victim to the shitty stock pipes, they make horrible low-mid power. You can try adjusting the needles and see if it gets better, but aftermarket pipes will help out a ton. Quote

I'm gonna run some Lucas oil engine treatment fuel additive through it and see if it helps at all...anybody advise against this? Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 23, 2007 Report Posted October 23, 2007 There isn't really anything that can fix. If you had choked up carbs then one side would run different than the other. Banshees dont have carbon issues. I would say fresh gas, and a set of plugs is all you can do short of pulling the carbs and making some tuning changes. Quote

Speaking of one side running different than the other, the right hand side smokes way more than the left hand side. Quote
