You have to suck it through a vacume line on the engine (usually off the brake booster) After the seafoam is put through the engine it is supposed to clean all the carbon and debris in the engine to make it run and idle smoother... It had been done about 25K miles prior to that. On my truck I had 110K miles and I noticed about 1 mile increase in gas mileage. I highly recommend it. I put 2 bottles in the truck. I on the vacuum line to the brake booster, 1/2 bottle in the gas and the other half in the oil. You need to change your oil after you use Sea Foam. Seafoam about everything I have driven, everything smokes like crazy when you use it right! Just remember you kinda have to get on the gas for it to work the best, gose hand in hand why they say to really hammer on your car/truck once in a while to clean the carbon out too! Bansh-eman Posted April 27, 2008 Report Share Posted April 27, 2008 (edited) i am havig a little bit of a prblem with this 98 escort beater i bought lst week, so i sea foamed it and i didnt see any smoke at all. i know there has got to be shit built up in there! its got 113k on it and the PCV valve was not ealed when i got it so there has to be shit in there to be cleaned! i should probly do the lower half of my motor with it too. do you replace the x amount of oil with sea foam or do you run th sea foam on top of the regular amount of oil? I guess i will go to kragen and get another bottle and see if they will run a computer to try and pull cods. I can not figure out what wrong. I have changed the plugs, wires, pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, and it still feels like its cutting out when i start moving fro a stop and even at speeds soe times. Bansh-eman Posted April 28, 2008 Report Share Posted April 28, 2008 ok fellers, i added 6oz of sea foam to my oil and started her up ran it about 5 mins and there was not a single bit of smoke, so i have a full bottle of sea foam in my gas which is only half full and 6oz in the oil. from everything i have seen online this stuff normally smokes its ass off when it start buring all the junk out. Mine had zero smoke, now i know with out a doubt that this ford clunker with 113k on it HAS to have carbon build up. When you guys ran it did yours smoke ? On my silverado I take off the vacuum line from the brake master cylinder and suck it in through that. Try that and you'll get some smoke, either from teh crud or just from burning the seafoam. wannashee20 Posted May 23, 2008 Report Share Posted May 23, 2008 The seafoam can should have a nossel sort of thing on it so that when you pull the hose off you can just put the nosel right in side of it. But the engin should be held at an rpm of like 1.5 to 2 grand for best results so it helps to have someone that can lend a hand. also the vehicle should run for at leat 5-10 minutes after the stuff is added ( dont just shut off the car unless it is overheating ) after that take it to a back road and give it some gas to clean everything out!
