Ricehater Posted October 16, 2007 Report Posted October 16, 2007 The increasing of octane without need goes back to the prost that you make the most power with the lowest octane gas that will not self ignite (detonate) in the engine. I think if you look at the ingredients of most octane boosting products, you will find many of them are almost entirely strong solvents. However, whether they will actually break up and sort of fuel varnish could be debated. :geek: I think "fuel injector cleaner" might work.... but alot of these products dont work ..... i have no experience with octane booster cleaning things ... my opinion is this..... gas is one of the best cleaners i have used to clean anything... brake cleaner works better.... if you want to clean your fuel system take it apart spray some brake cleaner on it and dry it off.... :biggrin: Quote
