If you like to find out if theirs water or coolant mixing with your tranny oil. Go to your local plumming supply warehouse and buy some water detecting paste. They use this paste for checking for water in your home heating fuel tanks. It also shows up on antfreeze. It will turn a vivid purple color. It will detect it quick. I keep this in my toolbox at all times. I always check it every oil change to make sure that seal isn't leaking. Hope this helps.

I dont know if this makes any sense but if you think it may be the transmission couldnt you put the bike in 6th gear and try and spin the wheels when it is off, just to see if anything in the trans is frozen, or the clutch is locked up? also i have seen oil in my buddies bike almost white just because he never changed it and just flushed it out and put new oil in and never had any problems with leaks just old i guess

with your clutch apart just as shown in the last photo, can you turn the inner hub and clutch basket seperately...in oposite directions? both should move freely of eachother.

The inner hub moves freely in both directions but the clutch basket is very hard to turn since

it engages the gears - this with the Banshee is in neutral...What do you think?

Man, I am still thinking its in the tranny... Symptoms sound very similar to my wifes bike, and its second gear was exploded.

OK heres an update: Banshee off - it shifts from 1, neutral @ 6 with no problem or noises.

I can spin the wheels with difficulty since all drivetrain/cylinders must turn.

Question: is it normal that the clutch basket remains locked with the speed engaged (meaning in order to turn the basket, the Banshee cylinders and everything needs to turn) even when the clutch handle is pulled?

Let me know if you see anything here that could help. As far as the clutch system itself, I still can't find anything wrong with any components.

Thanks!

I finally found the issue!! Not the clutch, not the tranny but a faulty thumb throttle sensor switch which was left over after removing TORR system some time ago. (I never removed the Torr module+add wiring) The sensor would shut off the slide movement in the carbs every time I would clutch in gear. Its all good - Cheers!
