Hey, I just need to know what happens if you dont weld your crank. Does it bust up the cases or any other parts or does it just break and your motor dont run, any help on this would be greatly appreciated! :evil:

Do a search in this forum as this topic has been gone over several times..................

 

Worst case scenario is that you can write off your entire engine if all the stars align properly. :biggrin:

Stock banshee cranks are not trued or welded....fyi

If you run a ton of compression or over rev the engine it can come out of phase. Most of the timne, thats all it does, then you got to tear it down and rebuild the crank.

ok so the pin could come out of the webbing and f the bottom half of your motor up or more commonly like Snop said

I am asking because I may buy some ported cylinders , I dont really want to go into the motor to re-do the crank if I dont have to. All ive done to my bike are bolt ons (all of them) :biggrin: I am looking at a set of drag ported cyls. with the exhaust raised 3mm. Is that a lot of exhaust duration or will I be safe with them?
