Snopczynski Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) Well I got half the intake done, and I started hogging out 1 of the cages so far. That reed cage porting is tedious work. Just got to bolt on the other cage, hog out the intake and match the cage now. The new intake outlets are 3.0mm bigger on each side from when I started. Took this pic with the cell phone. TurboBanshee420 Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 I'd love to hear what you think that is going to do for you. Don't skimp on the details now... Quote
sredish Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 what are you going to do with the intake? that's the most importaant aspect of the 2-1 setup as you have the "Y" in the intake and must seperate the airflow as efficiently as possible. The old Graydon does this pretty well. Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 7, 2007 Author Report Posted October 7, 2007 Basically I opened up the cages and made the intake runners larger all the way through. Then I match ported the cages, and the rubber boot inlet. When I did the intake runners I reshaped them so when the fuel and air comes in they are diverted straighter down with less angle like the graydon intakes do. Where the intake met the cages was way off, the intakewould overlap the cages in several spots, and on the inside edge of the cages stuck out. I smoothed it all out and took out all the cnc marks that were in it also. Quote
sredish Posted October 7, 2007 Report Posted October 7, 2007 (edited) nice. i see what the pic is now, it was hard to tell w/o paying attention like i did the first time and your explanation helps. sounds like a fun project and i'm sure the outcome will be worth it. take a pic for us looking in from where the carb is, looking at the Y, if possible. looks good tho. trying to remember how the vforces line up with the inside of the single carb intake.... what your doing has gotta help. Snopczynski Posted October 8, 2007 Author Report Posted October 8, 2007 Yeah, I dont know about the vforces either. The stock cages are not lined up real well at all though. Quote
sredish Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I'd bet the Vforces are lined up about like the stockers... maybe a little better but I wouldn't imagine much. Quote
TurboBanshee420 Posted October 8, 2007 Report Posted October 8, 2007 I was using vforce 2's with my 2-1 and I had to clean up the boot area (pockets in the corners) and where it mated with the reeds. It just makes sence... Quote

I am gonna have a motor over here and apart next week. It has vforce 2's in it. I can check it out. Quote
Snopczynski Posted October 14, 2007 Author Report Posted October 14, 2007 (edited) Here is the front and back of the intake. Its done, just need to sharpen the edges of the porting on the manifold off. Only thing left to do now is match the cages. Edited October 14, 2007 by Snopczynski Quote
THE358BANSH Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 In the first pic, is the seperation of the Y a sharp divergence? If so, you might want to give her a little bit of roundness to help smooth out the air/fuel/oil mixture. Quote
