gumby6t9 Posted September 29, 2007 Report Posted September 29, 2007 So I just installed a T6 pipe kit and a Toomey 2 into 1 filter assemby and boyesen reeds. It runs great in the mid to upper rpms but low rpm it runs like crap. While idleing if you pump the gas it acts if its running out of gas, real sluggish and flat, but once I reach upper rpms it runs fine. When coming to a stop it revs up (like running out of gas) then finally idles down. I tried adjusting the air screws but it doesnt seem to help. One more question - when I re-assembled my carbs I noticed that the right carb doesn't have the brass tube sticking into the float bowl like the left carb does, both carbs have a brass tube in them... Please Help! Quote

Please Help! Please provide us some more info on your jetting specs, I just did the same setup minus reeds and I have T5s, but have a mid throttle issue. How many turns out are you? If you check the sticky at the top about jetting troubleshooting there is a chart that can help lock on to and isolate the area of the throttle that isn't right. I am thinking something along air/screw and pilot circuit. I am sure Sredish will jump in because he seems to have jetting on lock. Quote
gumby6t9 Posted September 29, 2007 Author Report Posted September 29, 2007 I got it. 27.5 pilots totally cured my problem. John, This is what I ended up with... 27.5 pilots 1 turn out on the air screws 280 mains. toomey needles on the 4th position. Quote

Now if only I can figure out my woes. Do you need upgraded pilots with the addition of reeds. I believe in the jet kit from Toomey they say the stock pilots are all you need, at least that is what I have on mine, but I am using toomey needles with the clips in the wrong position so I am hoping that will clear up my issues, that and this mystery tube that is leaking.
